William Roca Willy sctualmente representa a la red Internacional REDBIO (FAO) de biotecnología en el Perú. Especialista en Fisiología Celular y Citogenética de Plantas. Ha sido investigador en el Centro Internacional de Agricultura Tropical y en el Centro Internacional de la Papa y consultor internacional. Ha investigado sobre el uso de la biotecnología en  la conservación, conocimiento y utilización de la biodiversidad, con preferencia a los recursos filogenéticos y la valorización de agrobiodiversidad Andina con fines de utilización sostenible. Tiene múltiples publicaciones científicas.
